Keeping up with news
This seems like a good time to remind readers of the various ways that you can keep up-to-date with what the team is doing. I’m aware that many schools and colleges begin their planning (for next year) around this time.
The best way to follow the team is via this blog, which provides the most detailed information about qualifications. You can follow this blog by simply booking marking the page or adding the RSS feed to your favourite reader or subscribe for e-mail updates directly into your inbox (see panel on right).
We also have a popular Twitter account. You can follow the team here. Twitter is ideal if you want less information but don’t want to miss anything vital. We don’t Tweet everything that we write on the blog so you would miss some things but we try to Tweet all of the important stuff.
There are a number of online groups for specific sectors and/or qualifications. For example, we have separate groups for schools, colleges and training centres. If you subscribe to the appropriate group, you’ll only get the information relevant to that sector. We also run some private groups for people with special roles (such as our lead person network for college staff).
Finally, we have a Yammer network that we use for a range of things – but mostly when we want feedback on some of the things that we’re doing. We host some special interest groups on this network such as the unit writing group.
Of course, you can use plain old e-mail to contact us. Our address (computing@sqa.org.uk) is easy to remember. Drop us a line if you need help using any of our online services.
