{"id":1334,"date":"2015-06-19T15:38:17","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T14:38:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sqablogs.lndo.site\/computing\/?p=1334"},"modified":"2015-06-19T15:38:17","modified_gmt":"2015-06-19T14:38:17","slug":"training-hn-unit-writers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing-digital\/training-hn-unit-writers\/","title":{"rendered":"Training HN Unit writers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Unit writing event took place today, in Glasgow, for people involved in reviewing <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/hncd-information-technology-update\/\">HNC\/D Information Technology<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/hncd-interactive-media-development-update\/\">HNC\/D Interactive Media<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/hncd-computer-games-development\/\">HNC\/D Computer Games Development<\/a>. We decided to hold a single\u00a0event for all of the developments, rather than separate events, since\u00a0the principles of unit writing do not change from one subject to another.<\/p>\n<p>The event went well. There have been changes in the way SQA defines units\u00a0(units are now more open with more flexible) so even experienced unit writers, I think, found the event useful. We wanted to carry out the training before the holidays arrive so that the writers can spend the Summer creating the units.<\/p>\n<p>We hope to validate all three of these awards in <strong>Spring 2016<\/strong> and make them available to centres for <strong>1 August 2016<\/strong>.
