It will take place on <strong>Tuesday, 15 December<\/strong> in the SQA offices in Glasgow. A strong panel has been selected to scrutinise the awards. The development was <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/pdas-in-software-development\/\">announced <\/a>in June but, due to the academic calendar, didn&#8217;t commence until late August. So, it&#8217;s been a speedy development. But, I think, it&#8217;s been thorough. Almost 100 representatives participated in the research (including 28 employers) and the results are overwhelmingly supportive. I&#8217;ll let you know the outcome of the validation as soon as it has taken place.\u00a0We&#8217;ll then operationalise the awards as quickly as possible. The awards will be available to centres from the end of <strong>January<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I am presently validating the component units. There are nine new (double credit) units in total. They&#8217;re shaping up well and will be validated by <strong>15 December<\/strong>.
