This development has been on hold for a while. It <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/hncd-information-technology\/\">commenced in 2015<\/a>\u00a0but, due to a number of factors, progress has been slow. We&#8217;re now ready to get on with it.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/hncd-it-review\/\">previously <\/a>announced a name change for the qualification. It&#8217;s proposed to call it <em>HNC\/D Technologies in Business.<\/em>\u00a0We&#8217;ve also created a draft structure for the revised award. We now need to get down to writing (and revising) a number of units (19 new or revised units are proposed).<\/p>\n<p>This will be the first development to get the &#8220;new treatment&#8221; &#8211; the new processes that I mentioned in <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/new-qualification-development-process\/\">another post<\/a>. Because of that, there is a possibility that the revised award will be available by <strong>August<\/strong>.
