The meeting was held in SQA&#8217;s Glasgow offices.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/HN-IT-unit-writers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2161\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/HN-IT-unit-writers-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Some of the writers were old hands and some were brand new. It looks like a good team. There&#8217;s always something to learn about unit writing (I&#8217;ve been involved in the writing of hundreds of units and I&#8217;m still learning). It was an interesting day with lots of useful discussions around what makes a good unit. In total, 18\u00a0<strong>new or revised units<\/strong> will be produced as part of this development &#8211; so there is a lot of writing to be done.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re using some new processes to get these units produced so we have a tight timescale. We&#8217;re aiming to have all of the units validated by <strong>mid-May<\/strong>.
