My own presentation was about national qualifications in this area, specifically:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Internet Safety (unit)<\/li>\n<li>Child Online Protection &amp; Safeguarding of Children (PDA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"width: 425px\"><b style=\"margin: 12px 0pt 4px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/bobbyelliott\/internet-safety-conference\" title=\"Internet safety conference\">Internet safety conference<\/a><\/b>    <\/p>\n<div style=\"padding: 5px 0pt 12px\">View more <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/\">presentations<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/bobbyelliott\">bobbyelliott<\/a> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>I was pleased at the interest in my talk and, hopefully, many people will take it forward by offering the qualifications in their centre or undertaking the qualifications themselves.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 425px\"><b style=\"margin: 12px 0pt 4px\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">The keynote talks were excellent. Helen King, of CEOP, gave an interesting talk about trends in child protection. She pointed out that CEOP has a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/ceop?blend=1&amp;ob=5#p\/u\/0\/HqgUZZorg_0\">channel on YouTube<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal\"> with some excellent resources on child protection, including a new <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4ovR3FF_6us\">video on sexting<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<p>The second keynote, from Jodie Fraser, emphasised the limitations of schools trying to control young people, rather than educate them. She spoke about &#8220;the limitations of filtering, blocking and banning&#8221; and how it &#8220;failed to equip young people to become adults in the digital world&#8221;.
