Qualification Support Team
The Qualification Support Team (QST) met last Wednesday for its annual meeting. The QST is responsible for supporting existing qualifications. Members are drawn from practicing teachers, lecturers and trainers.
There are a number of standing items at every meeting such as a qualification update from me and my team and a report from the Senior External Verifier. An important role for the committee is to recommend support materials for qualifications, and we provided an update on recently developed materials such as the teachers’ and learners’ guides for NPA Data Science. I took the opportunity to update members about new Higher National Qualifications.
The team also considers requests from centres for revisions to qualifications. This year we had a couple of requests for optional units to be added to existing qualifications, both of which were approved.
The QST provides a forum for practitioners to play a role in supporting Computing and Digital qualifications. We’re always happy to consider new members. Please contact Megan if you’re interested.
