A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/74738.html\">webpage <\/a>is now available, where you will find the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/files_ccc\/GK7W44_GK7X45_GK7Y46.pdf\">Group Award Specification<\/a>\u00a0[PDF] and other information about the suite of\u00a0qualifications. The awards are\u00a0<strong>auto approved<\/strong> so any Scottish school or college can deliver them.<\/p>\n<p>A number of centres have already expressed an interest in delivering the awards in the coming session and I expect several schools and colleges to offer them in session 2015-16. The <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/cyber-security-units\/\">component Units<\/a> can be delivered individually if you would rather offer specific aspects of cyber security rather than an\u00a0entire group award.<\/p>\n<p>The Units (all of them) will be added to\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/71453.html\">NC Computing with Digital Media<\/a> (at the appropriate level) so they will count towards that larger award.\u00a0We are currently devising Assessment Support Packs for each of the Units, which will be ready around November.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re delighted to see these qualifications available to centres. It&#8217;s the culmination of several months hard work by the QDT. I&#8217;m confident that these awards will be very successful in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re also developing a new stand-alone National Unit entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/cyber-security-fundamentals\/\">Cyber Security Fundamentals<\/a> (at SCQF Level 4) that will be available to centres later this year if you want to give learners a short taste of cyber security.<\/p>\n<p>You can find out more about these qualifications by reading the <a href=\"http:\/\/1drv.ms\/1Jy67n8\">FAQ<\/a>.
