I <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/pdas-in-software-development\/\">announced <\/a>the development in June and the first meeting of the QDT took place <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/qdt-for-pda-software-development\/\">in August<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the meeting was to review progress. We&#8217;ve done a lot in a short time. A QDT has been formed, a Lead Developer selected, the aims of the award have been decided, a structure agreed, and the entry requirements have been discussed.<\/p>\n<p>The next stages are: (1) writing the component units; and (2) consulting on our plans. We&#8217;ve already carried out some qualitative consultation, so we think that we&#8217;re heading in the right direction, but the next stage is a\u00a0wider\u00a0consultation with more people.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m hoping that this new qualification will be popular in centres. <a href=\"http:\/\/codeclan.com\/\">CodeClan<\/a>\u00a0will be offering the award as soon as it&#8217;s available. We&#8217;re aiming to have the new qualification available to centres from <strong>January 2016<\/strong>.
