Most schools and colleges also return today. I wrote\u00a0a <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/review-of-the-year-2\/\">review of the year<\/a> in my final post of last year, which highlighted the high (and low) points of 2015. So, in this post, I will\u00a0talk about the coming\u00a0year.<\/p>\n<p>My immediate priority is to replace Helen, who was successful in getting Caroline&#8217;s permanent position. We&#8217;re a small team so losing one member of it is significant. We&#8217;re having to prioritise our work and some projects may be delayed. Two immediate priorities are addressing the validation conditions for <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/pc-passport-validation-event-2\/\">PC Passport<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/pda-software-development-validation-2\/\">PDA Software Development<\/a>. One casualty of the reduction in staff has been the various HNC\/D developments, which have had to take a back seat while deadlines approached for other projects.<\/p>\n<p>Last year was an exciting and productive time for the team. I&#8217;m hoping that 2016 will be\u00a0the same.
