The year had many highlights &#8211; and some low lights.<\/p>\n<p>The highlights include: making the new <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/pda-software-development-is-now-live\/\">PDA in Software Development available to centres<\/a>; passing <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/700-followers-on-twitter\/\">700 followers on Twitter<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/introduction-2\/\">Emma joining the team<\/a>; finalising the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/npa-pc-passport-core-units-are-coded-and-published\/\">new PC Passport units<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/welcome-to-aneta\/\">Aneta joining us<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/pc-passport-is-now-validated\/\">PC Passport was validated<\/a>; we <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/revised-internet-safety-unit-spec-available\/\">updated Internet Safety<\/a>; we produced a <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/npa-in-software-development\/\">new NPA in Software Development<\/a>; we <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/changes-to-online-groups\/\">re-organised our online groups<\/a>; the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/hncd-interactive-media-is-validated\/\">new version of HNC\/D Interactive Media was validated<\/a>; Hilary joined the team; we <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/quality-network-meeting\/\">re-started Quality Network meetings<\/a> for SVQ centres; <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/welcome-to-natalie\/\">Natalie joined the team<\/a>; and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/hncd-computer-games-development-is-now-validated-2\/\">HNC\/D Computer Games Development was re-validated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The low lights include having to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/heads-of-computing-event-2016\/\">cancel this year&#8217;s Heads of Computing event<\/a>\u00a0due to staffing shortages and the team change &#8211; of which there were many. But Emma returns in January so the team will get back to normal &#8211; with additional help from Hilary. I&#8217;ll write more about the team when I return in January.<\/p>\n<p>But, until then, me and my team wish you all a very\u00a0good holiday and I&#8217;d especially like to thank everyone who worked with us during 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I like to look back over the year at this time.
