We <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/nc-and-npa-computer-games-development\/\">commenced <\/a>this work a couple of months ago and things have ran to schedule.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of a scoping report is to outline the likely changes needed to an award. Scoping is the pre-cursor to development. We commissioned a report for each of the following awards.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NPA Software Development (SCQF Level 4)<\/li>\n<li>NPA Digital Media Basics (SCQF Level 4)<\/li>\n<li>NPA Digital Media Editing (SCQF Level 5)<\/li>\n<li>NPA Web Design Fundamentals (SCQF Level 5).<\/li>\n<li>NPA Computer Games Development (SCQF Levels 4, 5 and 6)<\/li>\n<li>NC Computer Games Development (SCQF Levels 5 and 6).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Having read the reports, I&#8217;ve made the following recommendations.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>1. NPA Software Development (Level 4):<\/strong> Major change and creation of a new Level 5 award.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2. NPA Digital Media Basics (Level 4)<\/strong>: Minor change &#8211; update each of the component units and assessments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>3. NPA Digital Media Editing (Level 5):<\/strong> Major change &#8211; update the units and assessments and introduce an optional unit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>4. NPA Web Design Fundamentals (Level 5):<\/strong> Minor change &#8211; revise some component units and assessments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5. NPA Computer Games Development (Levels 4, 5 and 6):<\/strong> Minor change &#8211; update all component units and assessments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>6. NC Computer Games Development (Levels 4, 5 and 6):<\/strong> Minor change &#8211; update a few\u00a0units and assessments.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This now has to be approved by the Business Case Group but all going well I expect to commence these developments in the near future.
