I&#8217;ve <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/reviews-of-npas-and-nc\/\">previously mentioned<\/a> that these awards, among others, were &#8220;scoped&#8221; to identify the extent of change needed. As a result, we have agreed the following changes to the awards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NPAs: no change to structure; all units updated; all assessments updated.<\/li>\n<li>NCs: possible change to structure, development of new\/revised units (and assessments).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The NPAs have been a big success, particularly in schools where almost 2,000 pupils took the awards last session. The NC has been less popular in colleges but still with a reasonable uptake. So, both awards will be refreshed to better reflect contemporary standards and technologies, and also address the usual issue of over-assessment.<\/p>\n<p>We aim to have the revised awards available to centres from <strong>April 2018<\/strong>.
