{"id":3371,"date":"2020-05-05T17:37:54","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T16:37:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/?p=3371"},"modified":"2020-05-05T17:37:54","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T16:37:54","slug":"hn-enhancements-adding-units-in-the-hnc-computing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/hn-enhancements-adding-units-in-the-hnc-computing\/","title":{"rendered":"HN enhancements &#8211; adding units in the HNC Computing"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>As Bobby has explained in his <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/improvements-to-hn-awards-for-next-session\/\">previous post<\/a>, the HN awards is going to happen in two phases. <strong>Phase 1<\/strong> will \u201cenhance\u201d the current awards (&#8220;HN enhancements&#8221;), without changing their structures, and <strong>phase 2<\/strong> will revise the awards using new design rules.<\/p>\r\n<p>In order to improve the HNC Computing framework more quickly (as it was developed in 2012 and needs modernisation) before <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/review-of-hnc-computing\/\">its review<\/a> is complete, our Qualification Support Team (&#8220;QST&#8221;) has approved the following more up-to-date SCQF level 7 units to be added to the framework as optional units.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/files\/hn\/HF8534.pdf\">HF85 34 Emerging Technologies and Experiences<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/files\/hn\/HT9T34.pdf\">HT9T 34 Artificial Intelligence<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/files\/hn\/J0HA34.pdf\">J0HA 34 Computer Programming<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/files\/hn\/HT9V34.pdf\">HT9V 34 Cyber Resilience<\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>A new unit &#8211; Working with Data (SCQF level 7) is under development as part of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/pda-data-science\/\">PDA Data Science<\/a>.
