{"id":3909,"date":"2022-01-18T11:24:11","date_gmt":"2022-01-18T11:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/?p=3909"},"modified":"2022-01-18T11:24:11","modified_gmt":"2022-01-18T11:24:11","slug":"diploma-in-digital-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/diploma-in-digital-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Diploma in Digital Technology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You might have noticed from the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qualifications.gov.scot\/computing\/computing-qualifications\/\">portfolio diagram<\/a> that a new CBQ is coming, called <em>Diploma in Digital Technology<\/em> (SCQF Level 8), which will replace two existing qualifications: <em>Diploma in Data Analytics<\/em> and <em>Diploma in Information Security Professionals<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the new qualification has three pathways: (1) cyber security; (2) data analytics; and (3) software development. Each of these pathways will be separately certificated. The titles have still to be decided but will make clear the chosen specialism.<\/p>\n<p>The current qualifications (<em>Diploma in Data Analytics<\/em> and <em>Diploma in Information Security Professionals<\/em>) will go into lapsing from <strong>30 April<\/strong>, when we will no longer take new entries (but learners will continue to be certificated).<\/p>\n<p>The new diploma is based on work situations, developed by Skills Development Scotland who worked closely with employers to develop the standards. So they&#8217;re very relevant and up-to-date, and the resulting qualification will be likewise.
