Warmworks Scotland, a heating and efficient energy company, is the first business in Scotland to put all of its employees through the SQA Customised Award, ‘Climate Solutions Accelerator.’<\/p>\n
The course, created by the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, the University of Strathclyde, and training provider, Jump Digital, teaches participants practical solutions that can be implemented to tackle climate change, as well as knowledge on climate science and climate policy. This Customised Award has also been credit rated by SQA on the SCQF at Level 5 with 1 credit point.<\/p>\n
Warmworks was established in 2015 to deliver the Scottish Government\u2019s fuel poverty scheme. It provides insulation, efficient heating and renewable technologies in the homes of households who are struggling with the cost of high energy bills, making homes warmer and more affordable to heat.<\/p>\n
Recognising the role it has to play in tackling the climate crisis, Warmworks has put 175 employees through the course, all receiving the SCQF credit rated Customised Award certificate from SQA.<\/p>\n
Ian Cuthbert, Net Zero Programme Manager at Warmworks said, \u201cWe recognise that our people play a crucial role in our journey towards net zero. We have invested in training all our employees to not only provide them with an understanding of climate change, but to encourage them to think about solutions to the climate emergency, particularly ones that they can apply in both a professional and personal context.\u201d<\/p>\n
