A consultation period for the refresh of the Technologies Experiences and Outcomes (Es & Os) is taking place from October 2016 to ensure they are fit for purpose. You are invited to get involved. Why the Technologies Es & Os are being refreshed Technologies is an ever changing area and Scottish Government’s Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) management group agreed in summer 2016 to refresh the original outcomes for Computing Science and Digital Literacy. Since their launch in March, the Digital Learning Guides have been used by a number of organisations who are helping to ensure that they reach the right people. Charities, housing associations, local authorities, supportive companies – all are using and sharing the guides amongst their customers, staff, volunteers and service users. One of the more recent companies to recognise and use the guides is an online organisation called UCanDoIt; they are a UK-wide resource-sharing charity who have added the Learning Guides to their catalogue…

We recently introduced our Digital Learning Guides to Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association as a direct result of our contact with them through volunteer work on social inclusion. They saw the guides as a very positive resource for both residents and staff and are considering using them as part of their digital inclusion strategy. We are delighted to have their endorsement; they have posted a very positive comment on their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/HanoverScotland/?fref=ts) and have promised to mention the guides in their next…

Now that the digital learner guides have been ‘out there’ for over a month, I thought it might be interesting to publish some statistics for how they’ve been accessed/used over that time period. In total, the Learner Guides web page has had 4029 ‘hits’ since the official launch took place on 30th March 2016. All of the guides have been accessed multiple times, the most popular guide being Getting Online, the guide that introduces a learner to the keyboard, mouse…
