We are about to commence with the next stage of development for the revision of HNC/D Interactive Media – Unit Writing.  The QDT will start this process in the coming weeks which will put us on track for a validation date of the proposed awards around October/November 2015. New subject blogs

I’ve mentioned previously that other subjects are about to launch their own blogs. These will be rolled out over the coming weeks. It’s all part of SQA’s engagement strategy with stakeholders. Exams begin

The school exams start today. They run for five weeks (ending on 5 June). The Computing exams are next Wednesday (6 May). In my own area (vocational Computing), this is also the time for Graded Unit examinations and, of course, university exams take place around this time too. So good luck to everyone. Vocational Computing qualifications (non-advanced)

I am the Qualifications Officer for vocational Computing awards and have been with SQA since 2010. Non-advanced qualifications at SCQF levels 3 – 6, such as National Certificates, National Progression Awards and National Units for Computing, fall within my portfolio. We’re in the middle of lots of developments right now. Helen is co-ordinating a number of NPA developments including NPA Digital Literacy (SCQF Level 3), NPA Computer Refurbishment (SCQF Level 4), NPA PC Passport (SCQF Levels 4, 5 and 6) and NPA Cyber Security (SCQF Levels 4, 5 and 6).
